Sultanate of Oman sees surge in inbound travellers, hotel guests

Muscat - The number of visitors leaving the Sultanate of Oman until the end of November 2021 was about 1.6 million, compared to 471,000 inbound visitors.


The monthly report issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) said that the total number of visitors coming to the Sultanate of Oman during the month of November 2021 was 111,000, compared to 13,000 visitors a year ago.


Most of these visitors were of the Gulf nationalities (43,316 and 38.8 percent), followed by the visitors from India (14.7 percent), Yemenis (5.2) percent, and Germans 4.4 percent.


Omanis constituted 60.4 percent of the total 60.4 percent outbound visitors in November, an increase of 128,000 travelers from the previous year.


The data showed that RO13,200, 2000 were the revenues of hotels with a rating of 3-5 stars during the month of November of 2021, compared to RO6,000 100,000 during the same month of 2020, an increase of 113.1 percent.


The number of guests in those hotels reached 123,600, compared to 84,500 guests during the same period in 2020, an increase of 64.3 percent. The occupancy rate in these hotels was 46.8 percent, compared to 23.7 percent for the same month in 2020, an increase of 46.8 percent.
