BankDhofar receives HR Excellence Award for 'People Development'

MUSCAT: In recognition of its ongoing investment in human capital growth and development, BankDhofar received the HR Excellence Award for 'People Development'. The plaque of recognition was handed over to Dr Khalid Salim al Hamadani, Acting Chief Human Resources Officer at BankDhofar, during the OER Business Summit 2021. The high-profile event was held under the auspices of Shaikh Salim Bin Mustahail al Mashani, with Oman’s senior government officials, influential policymakers and top-notch corporates.


On receiving the award, Dr Khalid noted: "We are very proud to receive this prestigious accolade. At BankDhofar, we strongly believe that our employees are the main pillar of our success. Thus, we have invested in developing their skills and capabilities through various training programs. We understand that providing the suitable work environment and the required training and development programs to the employees is the key to achieving success on various levels of our business."


This accolade highlights BankDhofar's continuous efforts to set training and qualification strategies within its general strategy whereby all training programs and opportunities are linked to employees' career paths.


The bank strongly believes that continuous training and talent development of its employees to best serve the customers. Learning and development is one of the key pillars in the bank’s operational strategy. The integrated training programs, presented by the Performance Academy, are considered as a qualitative investment in human capital.


Equipped with state-of-art facilities, Performance Academy includes class rooms where training sessions are conducted, a library full of resources, and Computer labs. Additionally, with the aim of equipping its employees with required skills to best serve the customers, the academy includes a mock branch where employees are trained and they go through real experience. BankDhofar, through the academy aims to make training available to all its employees through its branch network across Oman. Certified online learning and development courses will be available for the bank’s employees across different regions.


The bank has also achieved an Omanisation rate of more than 94% in various administrative levels and different departments and divisions. BankDhofar is proud of the Omani competencies within the senior and middle management team and the operational level, both at the departments and the branch network.
