Ibri - The sport of paragliding has been well-received in a number of governorates of the Sultanate of Oman over the past few years.

Khalid bin Rashid al Kalbani of the Ibri Club said that paragliding is a recreational sport activity based on the use of a flying machine called the glider to fly in the open air over varying distances.

He pointed out paragliding shows are also liked by tourists and the amateur team includes the youngest glider pilot in the Arab world - Rashid bin Khalid al Kalbani, who is 12 years old, and Aisha bint Khalid al Kalbani, who is 14 years old. She is the youngest female glider in the Arab world.
