Muscat: Majlis Ash’shura is hosting Engineer Said bin Hamoud al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, next Monday.
This was stated by Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura.
Majlis Ash’shura will convene its 5th and 6th ordinary meetings of the third annual session (2021-2022) on December 27-28. The fifth meeting will be dedicated to discussing the minister of transport, communications and information technology to make the case for road projects. During the sixth meeting, the council will discuss standing committees’ reports and review some oversight tools, Al Nadabi said.
The secretary-general of Majlis Ash’shura said that Monday’s meeting will be the first one for the current term to be dedicated to requests for discussion. He added that the Council of Ministers has recently approved some requests for discussion presented by Majlis Ash’shura. Accordingly, Majlis Ash’shura will host the minister of higher education, research and innovation and the minister of economy, to discuss the topic of the academic outputs that join the labour market, and the minister of commerce, industry and investment promotion to discuss finding a legal framework for regulating cooperative societies.
During the sixth meeting to be held on Tuesday, Majlis Ash’shura will discuss the mechanisms applied for the disbursement of assistance and compensations to citizens affected by cyclone Shaheen, Al Nadabi concluded.
