His Majesty, UK PM discuss bilateral ties

London: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met Boris Johnson, British Prime Minister, at 10 Downing Street in London on Thursday. The meeting reviewed historical relations binding the two countries and means of promoting them in various spheres to serve the joint interests of the Omani and British peoples.


They also exchanged views on current international issues of common concern. The meeting was attended from the Omani side by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth; Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; and Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the UK. David Quarrey, the Prime Minister's International Affairs Adviser; and Bill Murray, the UK Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, also attended the meeting.


His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met Prince Charles of Wales at Clarence House in London on Wednesday.


The meeting discussed aspects of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various areas in light of the advanced relations binding the two countries and their peoples.


The meeting was attended by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the UK and Bill Murray, UK Ambassador to Oman.
