Bahrain celebrates 50th National Day

Muscat: The Kingdom of Bahrain on Thursday marked its 50th National Day, which falls on December 16. The occasion comes around at a time the people of Bahrain have relished the bounties of prosperity and progress in a variety of sectors under the wise leadership of King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain.


Since independence in 1971, the Kingdom of Bahrain has seen a comprehensive development that covered all economic, educational, health and other fields.


Bahrain built a robust economy and claimed its deserved reputation as a major business, financial and tourism centre in the region. Bahrain’s foreign policy is established on solid grounds of emphasis on sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity within the regional, Arab and international arenas.


The kingdom takes keen interest in safeguarding its strategic, political and economic interests abroad, while at the same time cementing ties with all countries and Arab and international organisations. Bahrain is a strong advocate of justice and legitimate rights of Arab and Islamic nations, notably the Palestinian cause. — ONA
