RAFO marks Armed Forces Day

MUSCAT: The Air Force of Oman (RAFO) marked the Armed Forces Day which falls on December 11 each year, under the auspices of Dr Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy, on Monday.


The event, which was held at Seeb Air Base, began with the military salute to the chief guest and then RAFO music band played the Royal Anthem. A military parade was then staged by RAFO personnel.


The celebration included a parachute show by the RAFO free fall team and a fighter jets show.



The event displayed high skills and unique capabilities of RAFO personnel and showed the level of modernisation witnessed by RAFO in terms of equipment and progressive technical systems owned by RAFO under the Royal attention accorded by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Supreme Commander.


At the end of the event, the chief guest made a tour around the exhibition showcasing a number of aircraft, weapons and modern technological systems that meet the national tasks and requirements undertaken by RAFO.


The event was attended by Dr Mohammed Nasser al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), commanders of SAF and other military and security apparatuses, senior officers and retired RAFO officers. — ONA
