MUSCAT: ahlibank has announced that the fourth quarter draw of its popular 2021 Wafra prize scheme will be conducted in the last week of December. The highly awaited draw will pick 20 lucky winners, with one of them wining the generous ‘Salary for Life’ prize, which carries a grand sum of RO 250,000, disbursed equally over 250 months.

This will be the final draw of 2021 Wafra scheme, which was launched early this year in a brand new format to encourage a culture of savings among its customers and introduce attractive avenues for financial growth for all account holders. With cash prizes worth over two million Omani rials, awarded through various draws held across the bank’s network of branches, the scheme has proven to be a major milestone in the bank’s customer first approach to banking.

Highlighting the significance of the prize scheme, Muneer al Balushi, AGM - Head of Retail Distribution at ahlibank, said, “2021 has proven to be a lucky year for more than a thousand account holders who savored the joys of financial abundance that we promised through our prize scheme Wafra. Our ‘Salary for life’ prize, in particular, has been a game-changer in every sense of the word. The fourth quarter draw of Wafra will further augment chances for more winners, ending the year on a winning note, despite the initial economic slowdown from the pandemic.”

“Our intent was, and is to target a wider customer base; we have accomplished the set objectives by adding more categories - with weekly, monthly, quarterly and special event draws - as part of the prize scheme. While this manifests our agenda to engage with our customers on a regular basis, it also amplifies our objective of instilling financial stability and inspiring a culture of saving to secure ones future. Our effort to enrich more lives with financial incentives and expand our customer base with structured growth plan has shown results, making this a win-win year for both our customers and us. Our portfolio of innovative products and services has demonstrated our intent to rise, and stay above the expected.”

The last quarter draw will add a fourth winner to the ‘Salary for life’ prize, which saw three lucky customers – in the months of March, June and September – walk home with a windfall of RO 250,000 each. In addition, the bank had also allocated special quarterly draws to award five lucky winners with cash prize of RO 5,000 each, a prize of RO 25,000 for an exclusive and premium customer, and one winner of the upper mass category of RO 10,000, in each quarter.

With the final draw of the year, ahlibank would have rewarded over 1600 Wafra customers, with prizes worth more than two million rials. While the weekly draws rewarded one lucky winner from each branch of the bank with RO500, in addition to another RO500 for premium and private customers, and another RO500 for Imtiyaz customers, the monthly draws awarded RO1,000 for one winner from each branch; plus RO1,000 each for two winners under its ‘Salary Transfer’ draw; RO300 each for five winners in the 18 to 25 years old category; and RO200 each for five winners under 18 years of age. This prize list was further augmented through special occasion draws, including National Day and new branches draws.

Wafra, which translates as abundance, came as a breath of fresh air for customers who were experiencing the effects of global economic slowdown. With the onset of the New Year, this buoyancy will be further enhanced with a newer version of the prize scheme. ahlibank promises to exceed all expectations by crafting a novel approach to financial abundance.
