Muscat: The body of a naval officer who died on duty was received at Seeb Air Base on Monday evening.
The petty officer, Ali Abdulrahman al Balushi, a member of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), died while performing the national duty onboard a naval ship, currently participating in a joint naval exercise with the Pakistan Navy.
The deceased was critically injured, which led to his death, as he was anchoring the ship on the quayside along with other crew members.
The Able Seaman, Sultan bin Salem al Sulaitni, who was also injured in the exercise was transferred to a military hospital in Karachi to receive medical care and specialized treatment.
