Muscat: Mohan Kannan and Subhash P lifted ISC Men’s doubles title in the annual tennis tournament organized by Indian Social Club.


In the Men’s Doubles final, the Mohan and Subhash capped their fine run in the tournament with a brilliant victory over the fancied team of Suhail K and Girish K K to claim the doubles crown. The final lived up to reputation as both teams played to potential until three-games-all. Suhail and Girish broke Subhash’s serve in the seventh game, held their next serve and broke Mohan to win the first set. The spectators were treated to a brilliant game of doubles with long rallies, neither side faltering under pressure. Scores were deadlocked at five-all when Subhash held his serve for the crucial lead and broke to claim a 6-2, 7-5 victory and the Men’s Doubles title. The duo reached finals after defeating Shanawaz and Ganesh scoring 6-1; 6-1in the semifinals.


In other matches of Men’s doubles, Haresh J & Junaid K beat Noushith and Dennis 8-0; Shanawaz and Ganesh beat James and Hemachandran 8-2 while Suhail and Girish beat Abbas and Mihir scoring 6-1; 6-1 in the semis
