Crown Prince’s visit to bolster historic ties: Saudi ambassador

MUSCAT: Abdullah bin Saud al Anzi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sultanate of Oman, said that the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, to the Sultanate of Oman comes in confirmation of the deep-rooted historical and distinctive relations binding the two countries. He added that it will be a historical visit as it will take the Omani-Saudi relations to broader horizons.


In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), the ambassador said that the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and his meeting with his brother King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud, represented a quantum leap for the Omani-Saudi relationship established by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, may Allah the Almighty have mercy on him, after his first visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Today, he said, we are witnessing that clear path being continued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.


The ambassador added that this visit will bring about a qualitative leap and a new, prosperous and progressive stage that will be reflected in both countries and realisation of the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples. The visit will contribute to the strengthening of cooperation and achieving integration and harmony in all fields, as there are common denominators between Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030.


The ambassador said that the achievements made by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of KSA and the initiatives and projects he had announced are due to His Highness’s outstanding leadership personality and his insightful and serious vision that contributed to the realisation of these achievements that became a source of pride for the Saudi, Arab and international peoples.


His Royal Highness the Crown Prince has become the focus of the world’s attention and a role model in terms of accuracy, achievement, and commitment to his inspiring and ambitious thought, energy. With these achievements he reduced years and moved the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to advanced stages compared to many countries of the world. His Highness’ directives had made a great impact on strengthening some international concepts such as transparency, governance, accountability which contributed to raising the efficiency of performance and government procedures and reducing financial expenditures, the ambassador said.


The ambassador indicated that the visit reflects the ideal relationship between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), especially that the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are among the largest countries and founders of the GCC.


He added that the economic and investment relations are the title of the current stage between the two brotherly countries. As for the political relations both countries are consistent in many fields and they act within the scope of the GCC. There is a congruence between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in terms of visions and the continuous joint consultation between them especially that both countries seek to promote the values of peace, mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of states.


The ambassador described the economic and investment relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as excellent, however the two leaderships are looking forward to taking these relations to the next level especially after the opening of the Empty Quarter outlet which is expected to make a qualitative leap in many fields between the two countries. — ONA
