England women’s cricket team arrives in Oman for pre-Ashes training camp

Muscat: Close on the heels of the successful co-hosting of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Oman Cricket has announced that the England Women’s Cricket Team has arrived in Oman for a pre-Ashes warm-weather training camp in the Sultanate from November 30 to December 12, 2021.


The England team will be touring Australia for the Women’s Ashes in January-February 2022, which will include one Test, three T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals. The training camp in Oman is aimed at acclimatizing the team with the weather prior to their tour of Australia.


All facilities have been made available for the England team. As the COVID situation continues to evolve, Oman Cricket has put in place stringent protocols for the squad’s two-week camp in the Sultanate.


Duleep Mendis, Chief Development Officer of Oman Cricket, said: “We welcome the England Women’s Cricket team to Oman for their pre-Ashes training camp. We will provide all necessary support as part of their preparations for the tour to Australia, besides given them a chance to experience Oman’s culture and hospitality.We hope that they experience our emerging passion for cricket and our efforts on making Oman the next big cricketing hub for every country. Hosting the England Women’s Team helps Oman Cricket to take a step further in developing women's cricket form the grassroots level in Oman as well as the global.”
