Sultanate attends 26th session of OPCW

THE HAGUE: The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the 26th Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (OPCW), being held during November 29-December 3.


The Sultanate of Oman is represented in the session by Shaikh Dr Abdullah bin Salim al Harthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and permanent representative to the OPCW.


The conference discusses ways to enhance international cooperation in the field of chemical activities for peaceful purposes. It also includes the election of the session’s president, his deputies and members of the organisation’s executive council, approval of the organisation’s budget and programme for 2022.


Also on the conference agenda is the report of the external auditor and amendments to some financial and administrative regulations and the organisation’s annual report on the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) 2020. — ONA
