Three pacts inked to support disabled people, social security and limited-income families

Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development signed here on Thursday three agreements to support disabled people, as well as Social Security and Limited-income families.


The first agreement was signed between the Ministry of Social Development and Oman-India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO) to provide necessities for Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centres for Disabled Children in the Wilayat of Sur and in the Wilayat of Musairah. The second agreement was signed between Al Khan Foodstuff (AKF) and Dar Al Attaa Charity to allocate a sum of RO 57,680 in providing foodstuff for 13,000 cases of Social Security and Limited-income families who were impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as those affected by the Tropical Cyclone /Shaheen/.


The aid distribution will be through cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Social Development, which will provide lists of eligible families.


The third agreement was signed between the Ministry of Social Development and OMIFCO to provide prosthetic devices for people with disability.


The devices will be distributed in cooperation and coordination with Oman Association for the Disabled. --ONA
