MUSCAT: Jalsah is an interactive knowledge-exchange program initiated by the Government and Public Relations Department of Khimji Ramdas. This platform enables talented individuals to present and exchange their innovative ideas with the KR’s senior management.

The long-term objective of the ‘Jaslah’ program is to invite industry experts, entrepreneurs, students, and achievers, from all walks of life, engaging them with the wider community, and constructively debating the outcomes and solutions. This perspective-focused event will play out real-world scenarios and identify opportunities to improve the work-life balance.

The inaugural event hosted chief economist Dr Yousef al Balushi, who gave an insightful lecture on the Oman Vision 2040: Opportunities for Alignment and Sustainability. The second edition of Jalsah invited Ahmed bin Hamood al Naumani, Head of Insurance Inspection at the Public Authority for Social Insurance. This virtual session was an eye-opener, which allowed KR Omani employees to understand the various nuances of the social insurance laws, including their rights.

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Labor, the latest edition of Jalsah hosted nine talented youth from various educational institutions for five weeks at the KR Infra Campus, Ghala. The event gave each participant an opportunity for students to present their problems and challenges faced during student life, including various scenarios of their student and job search life. The ideas and recommendations were presented before the KR Board of Directors.

Kairavi Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas said, “Companies should take note of changing business conditions and integrate different perspectives from both academia and industry. Promoting constructive dialogue will help influence decisions in a positive way.”
