Al Nasr look to strengthen lead at top of domestic league

After an absence due to the national team’s matches in AFC Asian qualifiers , Omantel League will be back in action with seven matches kicking off on Wednesday.


League leaders Al Nasr will be looking to strengthen lead at top when they will take on Al Musannah in the 5th week of 2020-2022 Omantel league at the Al Saada Stadium on Wednesday.


The match will kick off at 4:35 pm. Al Nasr will eye the 15th point and look to go away from the closest opponent Dhofar while Al Musannah will target to finish the game on a successful note that will keep the team’s hopes alive in competing at the top places.


Salalah giants, Dhofar, will face Al Suwaiq in a tough clash in this week of the top-tier league. Al Rustaq Sports Complex will be the venue for the tight encounter and the match will begin at 7:40 pm.


The second-placed team Dhofar is keen to reach 13th points and to reduce the deficit at the top. Al Suwaiq will try to register their second victory in the league under supervision of the new national head coach Qasim al Mukhaini.


Sohar will chase for the winning points when they will host defending champion, Seeb, at Sohar Sports Complex.


The match will start at 4:40 pm. The Northern Batinah team will try to compensate from early exist at the HM Cup from Al Oruba. On the other hand, Seeb will look to get much closer to the top teams as they have four points gap from the topper Al Nasr. Seeb managed to edge Ibri in the last 32 round to move into the second round.


In the other fixture, third-placed Al Nahdha will travel to Salalah to meet Al Ittihad at Al Saada Stadium while Oman club will play against Nizwa at Seeb Stadium. Al Rustaq will host Muscat at Al Rustaq Sports Complex. Bahla will meet Saham at Nizwa Sports Complex.
