Oman, Syria hold talks in documents, archives fields

Muscat: An Omani-Syrian session of talks was held in the National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA) here today between Dr Hamad Mohammed Al Dhoyani, Chairman of NRAA and Dr Bouthaina Shaaban, Political and Media Advisor to the President of the Syrian Arab Republic and Chairperson of the Wathiqat Wattan Organization’s Board of Trustees.


The session reviewed cooperation in the fields of documents, archives and historical studies and means of enhancing them to serve the joint interests. It also discussed enhancing the bilateral coordination in conducting conferences and seminars, among other topics.


The session was attended by Dr Bassam al Khatib, Ambassador of Syria to Oman.


Moreover, the Syrian delegation went on tour to some of NRAA’s specialized and technical departments. They also saw a presentation which gave a comprehensive overview on NRAA’s system of managing documents and archives. --ONA
