November, a month of glory!

Every day, month and year brings a new experience, blessing and surprise to our lives. In fact, each one of these dates in the calendar of life is another source of hope that we all seek. That is why days and months of the year are never the same, as some of which are very distinguished and special to people. Perhaps some of those days and months are being celebrated to commemorate special memories, anniversaries or occasions. There comes the different surprises or experiences every day in our lives. However, whatever comes is a blessing indeed!


November, for instance, is undoubtedly a very delightful and distinct month to the Sultanate of Oman and its people. It is being distinguished from other months for many reasons of course; more than one very special national occasions fall in November, as some people call it the glorious November. It is the month which is much-awaited not only by Omanis, but residents of this beloved land, especially those who were raised here as they share the sense of belonging to the country and its people. November is, in fact, the month of pride and honour to all.


Kicking off the month, November 9 was marked as the day of happiness when His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal directives, during the Council of Ministers meeting, to grant promotions to all those government employees who are entitled to get promoted since 2011. Such a great gesture indeed came at the right time, spreading delight and pleasure among citizens. It revived the sense of hope in people’s lives for it has been much-waited for almost a decade. Hence, it was another special day to remember by Omanis.


Despite all the circumstances which took place over the past years, the international crisis in oil prices, budget deficit and coronavirus pandemic all negatively affected the living standard and lifestyles of people. These issues had a great impact not only on Oman but also on many countries around the world. Luckily, the Sultanate of Oman has been wisely coping with the economic situation.


The Fiscal Balance Plan 2020-2024 developed by the government played a key role to accommodate economic and social impacts resulting from the plan once a Comprehensive Social Security Scheme is introduced in favour of low-income segments, with a view to protect them against the effects of some financial policies. The plan seeks to achieve sustainable levels of fiscal balance by the end of 2024, and establish suitable conditions to support Oman Vision 2040.


Coming towards the end of the second half of the month, the entire country celebrated the National Day, which usually lasts until November end. Every corner of the country, citizens and residents delightfully celebrate the day, November 18, marking the 51st anniversary of blessed Renaissance. This occasion brings the time for national accord, standing as a day of pride to every Omani, men and women, young and old alike. Not only people celebrate the occasion, but residences, streets and buildings become part of the celebration with specially-themed decoration.


The story-telling of the country’s glorious years is remarkably continuing. This year, the country and people are narrating the 51st chapter of the nation-building story, featuring the achievements and commendable yearly progress witnessed all over the Sultanate of Oman. The National Day commemorates the march by which every corner of the country started flourishing and Omanis saw the light at the end of the tunnel with a promising future. With the Renewed Renaissance, led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultanate of Oman continues its admirable nation-building march.


Be always blessed home of pride, the Sultanate of Oman, and may the coming years bring further prosperity and stability to the country and its citizens.
