Muscat: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and the Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, led the Omani delegation for 51st National Day celebrations in Expo 2020 Dubai.

A speech delivered on his behalf, by the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, stressed that Oman's participation in this international event affirms the historical and civilizational relations between the two countries.

" The Omani pavilion showcases the experiences, achievements, and aspirations of the government and private institutions, as well as the innovations and contributions of Omani youth who are the mainstay of the future."

Today's celebration at the expo includes speeches of the official delegates, cultural and musical performances.

The frankincense-themed Oman Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai received over 250,000 visitors in the first month.

The Omani pavillion has been hosting special events to mark the occasions such as Women's Day or Youth Day.

On October 26, a quartet ensemble of four female Omani musicians, each playing a different instrument, presented three 30-minute performances of traditional Arabic music.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Ministry of Commerce and Investment Promotion has made elaborate efforts to promote Oman as a prime destination for tourism.

“It is equally important that the expo should be able to bring tangible benefits to the country both in the short and long term through some deals or agreements,” a source associated with the expo and the pavilion said.
