Zawawi Powertech scamper to win over Al Jadidi Stars

Muscat: In a high scoring A Division match of the Oman Cricket League, Sunlight beat Sarco LLC by 17 runs. Batting first after calling it right at the toss, Sunlight scored 270 runs before being all out in 43.3 overs, with Iftikhar Ahmed top-scoring with 59 runs, including nine boundaries and one six. Hafiz Irfan also contributed a quickfire 54 off 29 balls, studded with eight boundaries and two massive sixes. Sandip Patel was the pick of the bowlers, with three wickets.


In reply, Sarco LLC came close to reaching the target, falling short by 17 runs. Zahid Hafiz was the main contributor with the bat, scoring 74 runs with six boundaries and two sixes. Rajesh Devashya and Ilyas Afreedi picked up three wickets each to derail the Sarco march towards the victory.

In another A Division match of the Oman Cricket League, Zawawi Powertech had a hard-fought win over Al Jadidi Stars, winning by two wickets in a low-scoring game.


Nidhin Mohan was the top-scorer for Al Jadidi with 34 runs, while Nishad K S was the highest wicket taker for Zawawi, scalping four wickets for 20 runs.


In reply, Zawawi also found the going tough, but scampered their way to a win in 30.4 overs, losing eight wickets in the bargain. Prabhakaran Kannan was the notable contributor with 26 runs, while Ali Muhammed tried to make a match of it with four wickets for 33 runs for Al Jadidi.
