MUSCAT: Majlis Ash’shura will host Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance on Sunday November 21 to discuss the state’s general budget for the fiscal year 2022, said Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura.
Al Nadabi noted that Majlis Ash’shura will convene its third and fourth meetings of the third annual session (2021-2022) of the ninth term (2019-2023) next week.
The minister of finance will deliver a statement at the third meeting on Sunday reviewing the financial and economic indicators of the state’s general budget for the fiscal year 2022, Al Nadabi said, adding that it will be a secret meeting.
The finance minister’s statement will include several points such as the estimates of general budget, public expenditure, public debt management, subsidy policies, government’s investments, economic diversification programmes, foreign direct investment, among others. The members of Majlis Ash’shura will hold discussion with the finance minister in light of his statement, Al Nadabi said.
The fourth meeting, to be held on Monday, will be allocated to discussing the Economic and Financial Committee’s report on the state’s general budget for the fiscal year 2022, Al Nadabi concluded.
