The authorities are planning various projects to enhance the quality of life in the governorate of Muscat

Some projects also aimed at raising the level of experience of tourists coming to the country as tourism is one of the key pillars of the diversification policy.

The office of the Governorate of Muscat has been interacting with the youth for their suggestions as the planners seek to work on sustainable projects for the future.

It may be noted that Omran has been working on plans to launch various recreational activities at Muttrah Waterfront, which include operating water taxi services and a cafe.

The suggestions from the public include redesigning the Muttrah Souq as it continues to get flooded after heavy rains.

"Really nice to see that cycling facility has been launched at the waterfront and it is time to launch more facilities such as boat rides, among others," said the owner of a popular restaurant near the Souq.

The authorities are working on launching a cable car, which will start at the vegetable and fish market and at Kalbour park.

Tenders have been already floated by the Ministry of Tourism for the management of the iconic Muttrah Fort.
