Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik gave orders to distribute saplings of date palms and sprouts of fruit trees and other plants to farmers in the wilayats that sustained damage during the recent tropical cyclone /Shaheen/.

The mission will be undertaken by Royal Gardens and Farms at the Royal Court Affairs, which will distribute the plants via the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

The Royal orders, which coincide with the Sultanate of Oman’s celebration of the Tree Day, reflect His Majesty the Sultan’s concern for farmers.

They are a symbolic Royal gesture intended to keep up agricultural production and enhance the Food Security System in the country.

The Royal orders reaffirm His Majesty the Sultan’s attention to the agricultural sector, which constitutes a basic pillar of the national economy. --ONA
