There are a number of charity organisations working in the Sultanate of Oman. Their contribution to humanitarian and social work is formidable. Everybody talks about their wonderful role in society, their own governance and system which helped them achieve their objective. They actually did more than the possibilities were available. They also kept pace with developments and goals which were set by themselves. They have a clear vision and mechanism to deal with crises caused by natural calamities or due to any other reason. They have a strong presence in human life. They work on wider horizons and try to fulfil the day-to-day human needs. The focus is on the sustainability of human life.

Among these charity organisations is Dar Al Atta’a which is doing exemplary work in its field. It has left its mark of selfless service everywhere. Many other such charity organisations find it as a model in social service and humanitarian work. If you go anywhere in any governorate of the Sultanate of Oman you would see its marks. This is the reason, it is appreciated by all in all nook and corner of the Sultanate of Oman. The respect it enjoys is also due to transparency in all its works. It won the confidence of all. This resulted in getting massive donations. For common people like us, it is enough that we have such a charity organisation in society which works actively and in a very organised manner. It looks as if it is the "United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) of the Sultanate of Oman". It takes its work in the interest of humanity as an honour.

There is no doubt that Dar Al Atta’a is a charity with all its virtues. Where there is any need, this organisation is available with all its possibilities and capabilities. It works in an organised and planned manner from receiving donations to utilising it for bringing smiles on the face of humanity. It works hard. It shares the pains and woes of the people and utilises all its energy and resources to make their life liveable. The collection of donations requires proper communication and smart skills of marketing. It does that. It launches all the campaigns in a very professional manner to collect donations from everywhere. It uses all fair means in these transactions. This helps in emerging as one of the most trusted entities in the country.

Not only its works, but its own presence in society is also a virtue and a grace of Allah. It is an example of honesty, sincerity, and commitment to human service. This character helps others, even individuals to feel responsible in terms of others in society. Recently, it collected donations to the tune of a hundred thousand Omani riyal in just a day and continued the campaign to finally collect one and a half million riyal to build 30 houses as part of the larger campaign of building 300 houses for those who were affected by cyclone Shaheen in North and South Al Batinah. Dar Al Atta’a is working hand in hand with the government to help out those affected by the cyclone from the miseries it has caused. For this organisation, there is no noble work other than helping humans and reaching out to them whenever and wherever they need.

If you would ask me to count the contribution in just one sitting, it is impossible. It would require pages and pages just to list the services it has extended to the people. But it is work telling society the tale of Dar Al Atta’a as it would inspire many others to come out with such ideas or join hands with this association. Dar Al Atta’a is a story worth telling and listening to.

Dar Al Atta’a has set a standard in charity work which needs to be followed by all. It is an example of work to get real happiness and make others smile. This is a trade exchange. On the one hand there are smiles and on the other there is eternal happiness and peace. This activity leaves no space for pain and sorrow.
