An air crew comprising a pilot and two air navigators from the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) received the Prince Philip Helicopter Rescue Award for rescuing 5 mountaineers from high altitudes using night-vision goggles (NVG), in the Wilayat of Nakhal in South Al Batinah Governorate.

The Omani air crew were honoured by the honorable company of air pilots in the United Kingdom.

The honouring of RAFO is the culmination of national efforts, humanitarian missions and developmental services provided by RAFO to citizens and residents across the country. It also embodies the leading roles undertaken by RAFO in serving the community and contributing to development and in representing the country in various international events along with the other units of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.
