560 foreign firms operate in Al Wusta Governorate, capital at RO 1.3bn

Haima: Abdoon Mohammed al Harsoosi, Director of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Governorate of Al Wusta, said that 560 foreign companies were operating in the governorate by the end of September 2021, with their capital investments totally RO 1.3 billion.


In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Al Harsoosi said that the governorate seeks to benefit from the Industrial Strategy, which will propel economic growth through economic diversification, notably by activating converting industries, introducing technology and knowledge, developing smart products and expanding the geographical circulation of converting industries products to cover new regional and international markets.


The Industrial Strategy keeps pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and aims to upgrade the level of technology used in industrialization, said Al Harsoosi, adding that the number of industrial licenses registered in Al Wusta during the first nine months of 2021 stood at 177. --ONA
