Labour ministry unveils 1,114 vacancies in public sector

Muscat: In implementation of the Royal directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to speed up the execution of employment initiatives, the Ministry of Labour will announce later on Thursday the availability of 1,114 vacancies in government units.


The announcement covers 587 jobs, of them some seats to fall vacant while others will be provided through replacement of expatriates. This is in addition to two more sets; the availability of 286 vacant jobs with financial grades and 241 jobs to be made available through replacement of expatriates.


The employment opportunities due to be announced are open for a variety of educational qualifications as follows: 11 for holders of Master’s degree, 746 for holders of Bachelor’s degree, 109 for post-GED (General Education Diploma) holders, 56 for GED holders and 192 for artisans and ancillary services.


The Ministry will open registration for a period of one month (since the announcement of the jobs) during which the candidates could contest the employment opportunities via the Ministry’s website.


This is the 8thannouncement of employment opportunities in the State’s Administrative Apparatus (public sector), since the beginning of 2021. Other announcements will follow suit in accordance with the actual needs of government units. --ONA
