Oman lifts ban on kingfish fishing

Muscat: The decision on banning the fishing, trading and possessing of kingfish in the Sultanate ends, announced the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) on Thursday.


In an online statement, MAFWR said, “The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) lifted the ban on fishing and trading kingfish in the Sultanate for the year 2021”.


The ministry announced that fishermen will be allowed to embark on trading and fishing the kingfish in the Sultanate from Saturday, October 15, thanking all fishermen for their commitment during the ban period, which took effect from August 15 till October 15.
