India resumes issue of tourist visas

Muscat: India will resume the issuance of group tourist visas from October 15, 2021, and for individual tourists from November 15.


Foreign nationals intending to visit India for tourism purposes will be allowed to enter into India on an e-tourist visa/ tourist Visa through chartered flights (for group tourism only) from October 15, 2021.


All individual foreign nationals intending to travel to India for tourism purposes through any scheduled/nonscheduled commercial flights would be permitted to enter India from 15 November 2021.


All such desirous foreign nationals would be required to obtain a fresh e-tourist/ regular tourist visa from the Bureau of Immigration or Missions/Posts


abroad.


E-Tourist Visa can be applied at: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/.


Regular Tourist visas in Oman can be applied through BLS BLS International Services, Wattaya,h Muscat.


In the case of a regular tourist visa, applications lodged through BLS, the applicant will have to bear BLS service fee and any other charges, as applicable.


Existing valid e-Tourist visas/ Regular Tourist visas issued before October 15, 2021, will remain suspended.


All foreign tourists will have to seek fresh tourist visas.


These e-Tourist / Regular Tourist visas will be issued for 30 days with a single entry.


First 500,000 tourist visas would be issued on a 'Gratis' basis and admissible only once per tourist.


COVID-19 protocol and guidelines of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India shall be strictly adhered to by the foreign nationals visiting India.
