Muscat: A new batch of citizens has joined the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences after passing field and electronic tests, interviews and medical examinations, to work for the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

The new batch comprises holders of the general education diploma (GED) and holders of post-GED qualifications in mechanics, electricity, chemistry, accountancy, finance, human resources, networks and telecommunications engineering, electronics, IT technology, maritime engineering and civil engineering.

ROP in coordination with the Ministry of Labour continues to conduct evaluation procedures for national holders of GED who are willing to join the police services.

The fundamental training programme for the new police affiliates includes military training as well as knowledge and sciences, law and police sciences and mental and physical training that enables them to perform their police duties and tasks. —ONA
