MUSCAT: The MB Group of Companies has began to send aid packages to help those who were impacted by Shaheen.

The first phase of aid consisted of trucks loaded with packages of supplies which were sent to Al Ghuzayn in North Al Batinah after coordinating with Al Khaboura Municipality and the Wali’s office.

Mawarid Mining, the operator of the Al Ghuzayn mining project, has represented MB Group in this aid plan.

Employees from Mawarid have managed the process of acquiring the aid packages and distributing them among families impacted by the cyclone.

Haitham Al Bahrani, representative for Mawarid, said: “Today we coordinated the acquisition and distribution process, and we are still here to help mitigate the cyclone’s impact on the people in any way possible. We operate in this location, and so we view this work as part of our humanitarian and national responsibility, as well as our Corporate Social Responsibility.”

Iman Al Barwani, Vice-Chairperson of MB Foundation, said: “Distributing supplies over these days is step on of the Group’s plan to help lessen the impact of the cyclone, and other forms of aid will continue coming. Our main goal is to supply the people in need in Al Khaboura and other locations impacted by Shaheen. We will continue offering aid as part of our sustainable CSR.”
