Muscat: National Committee for Emergency Management on Saturday asked residents living in areas located within the direct impact of the cyclone starting from the Wilayat of Barka until the Wilayat of Saham, coastal strip of Muscat Governorate and other coastal areas in Al Sharqiya South Governorate to evacuate their houses and move to the shelters.

A list of shelters has been already announced on the committee's social media platforms.

This measure is taken as a result of the impacts of the tropical cyclone (Shaheen) on a number of the Governorates, along with severe winds that could reach (200-500) mm during the next 48 hours as per the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, and due to the sea waves rise between (8-12) meters and the sea tide reaching land.

For more information, contact the information center of the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center at 24521666.
