Muscat: Amid precautionary measures of Covid-19, the two-day annual festival of camel races for 2021/2022 season kicked off on Wednesday at Al Bashair Camel Race track in the Wilayat of Adam in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
Organised by the Royal Court Affairs, represented by the Royal Camel Corps, the 19th festival witnessed the participation of 930 camels from different governorates of the Sultanate. On the first day of the competition, 30 rounds were held, including 19 rounds for the Haja’ej category, for a distance of 3km, and 11 rounds for the Laqaya category, for a distance of 4km.
