Sayyid Badr receives UN, US special envoys for Yemen

MUSCAT: Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, received on Sunday Hans Grundberg, the newly appointed UN Special Envoy for Yemen.


The two sides exchanged views on the efforts exerted to achieve a full and permanent ceasefire from all parties in Yemen. They also discussed easing the flow of humanitarian aid and entering a political process that fulfills aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people towards peace, stability, national unity and reconstruction.


Sayyid Badr also received on Sunday Tim Lenderking, US Special Envoy of the United States for Yemen.


The meeting reviewed the latest developments and exerted efforts for ending the war in Yemen.


The meeting was attended by Shaikh Khalifa Ali al Harthy, Foreign Ministry’s Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs, officials from the Foreign Ministry and Leslie M Tsou, the US Ambassador to the Sultanate. -- ONA
