MUSCAT, Sept 19
Oman bodybuilder Ahmed al Maskari claimed a silver medal at 2021 IFBB Arnold Classic Europe in Spain on Saturday. Al Maskari’s achieved the medal in men’s bodybuilding up to 90 kg event. The top bodybuilding championship is under way in Seville city, Spain from September 16 and will conclude on Monday.
The event is under supervision of International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness. The scoreline of Al Maskari was (WH/BH 89.4, RD1 5, RD2 X2 10, RD3 9) with total score of 19.
The gold medal went to Russian bodybuilder Alexander Konkin while Ukraine’s Dmytro Marchenko bagged bronze medal to finish in third position. The competition was very tough in this category which featured participation of 13 top ranking bodybuilders at the world-class event. Al Maskari put up a spectacular performance to claim the silver among the elite batch of bodybuilders.
The Oman national bodybuilder had won many top regional an international titles.
Oman’s bodybuilders had registered many top accomplishments in different world championships including bodybuilder Essa al Hasani who had snatched the title of William Bonac bodybuilding tournament in the Netherlands in 2018. Al Hasani won at the 90kg category to clinch the champion card in the tournament which saw 180 bodybuilders in action.
Also, Oman’s Physique champion Yahya al Kiyumi had managed to earn five five gold medals at International Federation of Body Building (IFBB) competition in New Zealand and Fiji in 2018.
