Joint meeting held to study disease vectors

Muscat: The Ministry of Health on Sunday hosted a joint meeting between a number of government units to study issues and challenges related to disease vectors.


The meeting was headed by Dr Ahmed Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health.


The meeting reviewed epidemiological maps of disease vectors, the epidemiological burden of vector-borne diseases and the exerted efforts in all sectors to combat vectors.


The meeting also highlighted a number of solutions and suggestions to be submitted to the Council of Ministers.


The participants in the meeting implored citizens and residents to be responsible and steadfast in adhering to the right health measures to curb the spread of disease vectors.


The meeting was attended by Dr Saud Hamoud al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Sayyid Khalifa Al Murdas al Busaidi, Secretary General of Governorates Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Dr Abdullah Ali al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, Director General of Dhofar Municipality and representatives from other departments concerned. --ONA
