The induction programme for new students admitted to the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Nizwa for the academic year 2021-2022 will start on Sunday. The induction, which aims to introduce new students to the new university life, courses and services provided by the university to them, will continue until Thursday.

It includes meetings and lectures, which begin with a presentation at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, an introduction to the organisational structure, and an introduction to the foundation programme and the academic departments of the university.

The activities also include introducing support centres such as the Admission and Registration Centre, the Student Career Training and Guidance Centre, the Learning Resources Centre and the Student Services Centre.

During the induction programme, new students will have to take tests to assess their math skills before enrolling in the Foundation Programme.

The students will have to open bank accounts and register for courses in coordination with academic advisers.

Dr Mohammad bin Juma al Kharusi, Dean of the University and Chairman of the Induction Programme Committee, said, “The preparations began early with the formation of the committee supervising the programme and taking measures in line with the decisions of the Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with Covid-19.”
