MUSCAT: Shura Council on Sunday took part in deliberations of the 14th meeting of the GCC Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee.

Held via video-conferencing, the meeting was hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Shura Council was represented in the meeting by Shaikh Ahmed Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary General of the Council. Sultan Humaid al Hosni and Abdullah Khalifa al Majali took part in the meeting as representatives of the Council in the GCC Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee.

The meeting aims at preparing for the 15th ordinary meeting of the GCC chairmen of Shura, national and Ummah councils, to be held on September 27, 2021.

The meeting discussed matters related to the European Parliamentary Committee, which is a joint committee concerned with strengthening relations between the GCC legislative councils and the European parliaments. It was agreed that the state chairing the session to continue coordination between the Secretariat General and the European Parliament to hold future meetings. -- ONA
