Vienna: The Sultanate took part in the European Forum held at Alpbach in the Republic of Austria.
The Sultanate was represented in the forum by Shaikh Khalifa Ali al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs, in the presence of Alexander Schallenberg, Austrian Foreign Minister.
During the forum, a high-level panel discussion was held under the title " Diplomacy Is Back: Perspectives for Peace and Security in the Middle East post-COVID-19".
In his statements, Sheikh Khalifa al Harthy asserted the Sultanate’s vision of resolving issues through diplomacy. He also underscored the importance of enhancing opportunities of cooperation and understanding among countries at the region as it is the best way to achieve security, stability and development.
The forum also discussed the future of the GCC region and the Middle East in light of the recent regional developments. --ONA
