Muscat, aug 28

Osool Poultry, the largest poultry parent stock project in the Sultanate, announced the export of its maiden consignment of hatching eggs last week.

“After starting the commercial production of hatching eggs, Osool Poultry begins today to export the first shipment of production outside Oman,” the company said in a tweet on Wednesday. The new milestone comes just over a month after the project, set up with an investment of RO 61.5 million, commenced operations at a site at Ghaftain in the Wilayat of Haima. Described as the largest of its kind in the Middle East, the breeder poultry venture is part of a portfolio of investments conceived in support of the country’s food security strategy.
