The end of night lockdown and sharp decrease in coronavirus cases have put more responsibility on people to adhere Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. They must take two doses of Covid-19 vaccine, wear face mask, wash hands with soap or sanitiser and strictly follow social distancing, caution health experts.

"One shouldn't fail to adhere to the precautionary measures including wearing masks and social distancing and all other precautions have to be strictly followed," Dr Faryal al Lawati, Senior Consultant and Head of Infection Diseases Section at Royal Hospital, said.

“The outcome of the total lockdown over the past few months will only be visible in the coming weeks from now or so and one cannot expect the results of any preventive measure immediately," said Dr Mahmood al Rahbi, Head of Emergencies at Al Nahda Hospital.

"We are slowly flattening the curve and we all need to be careful in our daily routines and follow the preventive measures. We will soon start witnessing the result of the lockdown in the coming weeks and expecting any positive results so soon is not advised," said Dr Ramla al Qassabi, a senior medical specialist.

The Supreme Committee tasked with following up the developments arising out of the pandemic on Thursday said the night lockdown will end on Saturday and ban on commercial activities and movement of individuals and vehicles will be lifted.

"All the precautions which have been in existence since the outbreak of the pandemic need to be followed, the failure of which will attract punitive actions against the offender," the Supreme Committee and the Ministry of Health (MoH) said in the statements.
