A number of ancient towers are spread over the hills of the mountains in various villages of the willayats along the mountainous strip on both sides of Wadi Dama Wa Wadi Al Tayyin.

Al Hammam Fort in the village of Al Hammam is one of the most important archaeological monuments in the willayat, which is located on a mountainous hill more than 90 meters above sea level. The length of the fortress is 250 meters, and its average width is 30 meters. The fortress is in the middle of the village houses, surrounded by agricultural oases of the village of Al Hammam, and overlooking the main stream of the Wadi of Dama Wa Al Tayyin.

The fort is surrounded by three main towers on its edges, which served as a defense towers for the fort. Inside the fortress there are 25 rooms.

The fortress was restored by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in the period from 2013 to 2017. It is one of the important touristic destinations in the willayat.

Yahya bani Oraba said “hopefully the restoration of fortress will be a good addition to the willayat as a whole because it will be receiving visitors and activating the tourism of the willayat in general”.

The same traditional means of building materials were used for the restoration process like the rocks, clay, candle wood and others”.
