Vaccination continues for school students in South Al Batinah and South Al Sharqiyah governorates

SUR, AL AWABI: The vaccination campaign against Covid-19 for students aged 12 years and older continued in South Al Batinah and South Al Sharqiyah governorates, on Tuesday.


Ali bin Khalifa al Kalbani, Director of the Department of Educational Measurement and Evaluation in South Al Batinah governorate, said the vaccination centres are seeing an excellent turnout by students who are taking the initiative to come to the vaccination centres and take the jab which reflects a conviction of the importance of the vaccines in curbing the Covid pandemic and mitigating the symptoms of the disease.


Al Kalbani praised the administrative and teaching staffs and the medical professionals at various vaccination centres for the great efforts they are exerting to make the vaccination campaign successful.



The Governorate of South Al Batinah has eighteen vaccination centres distributed across the governorate’s 6 wilayats targeting to vaccinate 42,444 students of public and private schools.


The Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah has 19 vaccination centres rolling out Covid-19 vaccines for students aged 12 years and older.


The vaccination campaign for students in the governorate continues till August 19 according to the schedule.


Mubarak bin Salim al Farsi, Acting Director-General of Education in South Al Sharqiyah said that the campaign targets to roll out vaccines for 29,756 of public and private schools.


He added that all the vaccination centres are witnessing an excellent turnout by students and the vaccination process is running seamlessly due to the early preparations taken by the directorates of health and education in the governorate and that also reflects the community awareness about the importance of taking the Covid-19 vaccine. — ONA
