MUSCAT: The seasonal ban of fishing and trading of kingfish comes into force next Sunday through October 15, according to a ministerial decision issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
The ministry urged all fishermen, fish transporters, companies and institutions dealing with the fishing and export of kingfish to commit to the ministerial decision, underscoring that the stakeholders have to frequent the departments of fisheries in the wilayats to register their stocks of kingfish before the ban enters into force, warning that they won’t be allowed to trade and export unregistered quantities of kingfish during the moratorium period.
