Muscat: The Board of Directors of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) has made the necessary amendments to regulate and license crowdfunding platforms in the Sultanate, which is one of the most important innovative financing tools.

The CMA stressed the importance of expediting the introduction of this type of financing product to support small and medium economic projects in the Sultanate, which are key to promoting economic development and creating job opportunities.

It may be noted that the legislative changes to regulate and license crowdfunding platforms are in the final stages of preparation and CMA will take into account the different types of funding methods provided by these platforms.
