Oman opens representation office in China for tourism

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has opened a tourism representation office for the Sultanate in the Republic of China, as part of the plans and programs to promote the Sultanate as a destination in different countries.


The office will create awareness about the Sultanate among the Chinese tourists through brand promotion at various important tourism events in the Chinese market and by consolidating the relationship between Omani companies and hotels and their counterparts from the Chinese market.


The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said that the number of visitors to the Sultanate from China during the last five years was 219,717, while between 2018 and 2019 there was an increase of 141 percent in the Sultanate.


The Tourism Representation Office in the People's Republic of China will encourage visitors and participants of Expo 2020 Dubai with tour packages to visit the Sultanate during the exhibition period.
