Muscat: The 6-month squid fishing season began in the Sultanate on Sunday.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, represented by the directorates of fisheries in the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar, completed preparations for the squid fishing season by conducting awareness events for artisanal fishermen. The ministry’s monitoring teams will intensify their activities on coastlines of the three governorates during the fishing season.
