Muscat: Dr Madeeha Ahmed al Shaibani, Minister of Education, has endorsed the results of General Education Diploma (GED) exams for the school year 2020-2021.

The GED results will be available via Omantel or Ooreedo text messages (SMS to be sent to 90200) from 4 pm on Tuesday, 3 August 2021. The same results will also be available later at the portal of the Ministry of Education.

As many as 433 Grade 12 students could not sit for the exams due to the fact that some of them were infected with coronavirus (Covid-19) while others happened to have mingled with infected persons, said Dr Zuweina Saleh al Maskari, Director General of Education Assessment, Supervisor General of the GED Exams.

Those who missed the exams because of Covid-19 circumstances will sit for alternative exams later this year, Dr Zuweina added.

The exams were conducted in 361 centres covering all governorates of the Sultanate. Requests for re-marking of exam papers will be received by the Ministry at its website between 4 and 12 August 2021, after which no requests will be entertained. --ONA
