Shura reviews individual and performance measurement and institutional excellence systems

MUSCAT: A number of specialists from the Ministry of Labour presented a visual display before Majlis Ash’shura about the individual performance measurement and institutional excellence systems which will be implemented in all government units from the beginning of next year, on Tuesday.


The presentation, attended by Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura, dealt with the general framework of the individual performance measurement system, change management, and the general framework of the institutional excellence system. The individual performance measurement system aims to develop the human resources system by building a culture of proficiency in job performance, improving performance appraisal systems, and linking productivity with incentives.


The ministry’s specialists indicated that the initiative to accelerate the implementation of the individual and institutional performance measurement system aims to review operating expenses and control spending.


The presentation touched on the benefits of the system on the society, the unit, officials and the employees as well as its features and tools, and the stages of measuring individual performance, in addition to the governance of system management.


The presentation dealt with the issue of change management to ensure a smooth transition from the existing job performance evaluation system to the individual performance measurement system.


The experts spoke about the institutional excellence system in terms of its cycle, criteria and expected output.
