Air trough will continue to affect Oman until tomorrow

Muscat: The latest weather charts and analysis of the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Center show that the upper air trough over the Arabian Sea will continue to affect the Sultanate until Sunday 18.


Cloud advection and formation will continue over all of the governorates with chances of isolated rain occasionally thundershowers associated with fresh downdraft winds and flow of wadis. The heavy rain will concentrate over North Al Batinah, Dhofar, Al Hajar Mountains, and adjoining areas and Sea of Oman coastal areas.


Sea state is expected to be rough along Arabian Sea coasts with wave height ranging from 3 to 4 meters, whereas, along Sea of Oman coasts it will be moderate with a maximum wave height of 2 meters.


The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as public to take precautions during thundershowers, the flow of wadis, and unstable sea state and to follow its latest weather bulletins and reports.
